This year’s Chapelton Bike Ride raised nearly £5,500, with nearly 150 people took part in this year’s event on 2nd September. Nearly 150 cyclists completed either the 46 mile route or the 12 mile route.
Some of the entertainment was restricted compared to previous years to limit crowds and enable social distancing. Families still came out on the day to support the race and enjoy the sunshine, creating a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Participants gave very positive feedback about the event, saying how much they enjoyed it and that they plan to come back again next year. A local resident, who was out riding their horse, got in touch after the event to let us know how courteous and respectful the cyclists were.
Lynn Batham, our Community Fundraising Co-ordinator said “We were delighted with the success of this year’s Chapelton bike ride, and would like to thank all of the supporters and sponsors for making it such an enjoyable event.”
“All of the money raised will go towards providing vital support to people living with a sensory impairment in the North East to live as independently as possible.”
