Refer someone to NESS for specialist support and advice
We accept referrals from other professionals, including GPs, social workers, Occupational Therapists and other health and social care professionals.
The person you are referring must know and consent to the referral, otherwise we cannot accept it.
People can also refer themselves to NESS for support.
Once we receive the referral, a social worker or rehabilitation worker will get in touch and arrange to meet the person being referred within 14 days to start the process of assessment. The assessment will be completed within 28 days and a support plan will be agreed based on the outcomes that the service user wants to achieve for themselves.

We recognise that not everyone will want a full assessment of need and may have some very specific questions or be looking for a specific piece of equipment. We will support people in the way that is most suited to their particular needs.
