Volunteer drivers urgently required

NESS are urgently trying to recruit volunteer drivers to help elderly people who are blind, deaf, or have sight and hearing loss to attend our social groups.

We particularly require drivers in the Moray area at present to take service users to and from their weekly social activities. Fuel expenses are paid to those who choose to volunteer.

We have been struggling to find the required number of drivers, which means elderly people who are blind, deaf, or have sight and hearing loss – some of the most isolated in the community already – are left housebound as they are unable to attend activities.

“The drivers make a huge difference to the morale of our users. I would encourage anyone who might be interested in volunteering with NESS in the Moray area to get in touch and more information will be provided.”
