We’re delighted to say that our Moray Young People’s Sensory Service (YPSS) is in the customer vote for Tesco Stronger Starts funding. It’s a scheme which gives projects like ours grants of up to £1,500. Voting is now open in Tesco Extra, Blackfriars Road, Elgin, and runs until the middle of January. If you can, please support us next time you shop at Tesco! To vote, you will need to make a purchase of any value within the Blackfriars Road store (Elgin, IV30 1TY). You will receive one token per transaction, to vote for one of the three chosen causes in-store. The project with the most tokens at the end of the voting period receives £1,500, the second receives £1,000, and the third receives £500.
Our YPSS supports children and young people living with serious sight and/or hearing loss. Our holiday activities challenge them in a safe, supportive and fun environment, encouraging them to grow in confidence and independence, make friends and develop their social skills, and foster ambitions for the future. We rely on grants, donations, and other charitable funding to make this possible. The children and young people from our Moray YPSS had a fantastic summer enjoying a wide range of activities. Some of the group also joined youngsters from across all of our areas at Adventure Speyside near Cromdale, for a residential activity weekend. Here they took part in gorge walking, fun paddling with Canadian canoes, archery and team games.
