New Process for Booking Tickets through the Entertainment Set

NESS Entertainment Set has been supporting visually impaired people to book tickets for the Audio-described viewings at His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen for a number of years. Since the pandemic, there has been a change to how the theatre is taking bookings for audio-described and accessible viewings, which will apply to the Entertainment Set.
Aberdeen Box Office now requires everyone who books tickets through NESS to have an Access Card. The Access Card lets venues across the UK who have registered with the scheme know what support you need to access their venue e.g. a companion, support for an assistance dog, hearing loop. The Access Card
allows you to buy tickets for various locations throughout the UK – please see their website for more information about where you can use it.
The Access card allows you to buy a ticket from His Majesty’s Theatre at the advertised price and will allow you a free ticket for your Guide. For NESS to book tickets at the theatre on behalf of the Entertainment Set, everyone will have to provide us with a copy of their Access Card so we can pass these details on to the theatre when we are booking tickets.
The Access Card usually costs £15 and is valid for three years, however NESS has been offered a discount price of £10 for the duration of 2022. There are two ways you can apply for the Access Card:
• You can apply online through their website https://www.accesscard.org.uk/. Quote the offer Code NESS2022 to get the £10 price.
• Alternatively, we can apply for the card for you if you send us in the required information either by dropping it off in person or through the post.
Everyone who is on the list of the Entertainment set has received a letter with further information about getting an Access Card. If you have not been involved in the NESS Entertainment set and would like to find out more, please get in touch with Dawn Maclean at Reception.
