NESS consultation event with Aberdeen City Council representatives Wednesday 5th October 2022 from 2pm - 3.30pm

Consultation Event in Aberdeen

We have been working with Aberdeen City Council to understand more about the developments that they are doing across the city and to ensure that they are as accessible as possible. The City Council will be consulting with the public throughout October, and we have organised a consultation event at the NESS Resource Centre, 21 John Street on Wednesday 5th October 2022 from 2pm – 3.30pm.

The event will provide an update on the proposals, which include multi-million pound projects to improve Union Street and the West End of Aberdeen, the Belmont Quarter, Castlegate, Schoolhill and Upper Kirkgate, as well as the creation of a new indoor/city market, improvements to The Green and nearby streets. There are also plans for the revitalisation of the beach front, including plans for a pier, a new children’s play zone, and a state-of-the-art sports area which could include a new stadium for Aberdeen Football Club. There are also plans to improve the George Street area, which might be of particular interest.

There will be an opportunity for you to let the developers know the best way for you to contribute to any ongoing consultation, and to ask any questions about the proposed developments. Given the scale of the work the Council is doing, there are likely to be a series of opportunities for consultations at different stages of the developments.

We hope the event will be as accessible as possible and a BSL interpreter will be there.

If you would like to attend the consultation event, please contact Reception to let us know you are coming. You can contact by phone, email, SMS or ContactScotland BSL.
