For our Joint Sensory Service in Aberdeen we are seeking to recruit:
Social Worker
36.25 hrs per week
SJC scale 35 – 40
£34,882 – £40,000 p.a.
You will have a relevant social work qualification and are an enthusiastic and well organised individual. You will have an understanding of the needs of people with a sensory loss or are keen to learn, including learning British Sign Language.
Key features of the role:
To support clients to overcome the practical and emotional effects of sensory impairment by:
• assessing people with sensory loss who have been referred to NESS
• working to meet needs identified and to refer on as required
• providing a domiciliary social work service for a specified case load – offering practical and emotional support, dealing with some rehabilitation activities and referring on as required
• providing information and advice on sensory impairment to clients, carers, relatives and other individuals or agencies involved with the service user
