Sensory Awareness Training provides participants with a greater awareness of the practical and emotional impact of living with a sensory loss, that is sight loss and/or hearing loss and Deafness. During this interactive training you will find out common causes of sight and hearing loss, the day to day impact that sight and/or hearing loss has on someone while exploring communication skills and developing skills to guide someone who is blind or visually impaired. You will also find out about some of the aids, equipment and adaptations that someone with a sensory loss might use to remain independent.
The training runs at NESS's Resource Centre at Number Ten, 10 Constitution Road, Dundee DD1 1LL from 9.30am to 4pm. Refreshments and lunch are provided, and everyone gets a Certificate of Attendance and full training pack.
