Support NESS by doing your own 2.6 challenge
NESS relies on income every year from our sporting events like the Moray and Chapelton bike rides , but also from incredibly generous individuals and teams, who take part in the various charity runs, races and challenges in the North East of Scotland and on a National level.
Sadly, most of these have now been cancelled. Can you help us out this year?
The Covid-19 pandemic has had, and will have a lasting effect on charities, with the loss of fundraising income due to the cancellation of events
In response, the organisers of the biggest mass-participation sports events across the country have come together to create a new campaign to raise vital funds to help to support charities like NESS and to encourage people to get active and have some fun!
The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26 April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event.
People of all ages are taking on The 2.6 Challenge with a host of activities – from walking, running or cycling 2.6 miles, juggling for 2.6 minutes, holding online workouts with 26 friends or baking 26 cakes. The ideas and options are endless!
You can make up your own rules but we do ask that you must follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing. Most people are taking part from Sunday 26 April but you can do your activity whenever is most convenient for you.
There are just five simple steps to take:
1. Dream up your 2.6 challenge – if you need help there are lots of ideas on twopointsixchallenge.co.uk
2.Head to twopointsixchallenge.justgiving.com/get-involved?charityId=186062 to donate to NESS via the link to the Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving sites and search for North East Sensory Services to make your donation.
