NESS is pleased to announce the release of the dates for Sensory Awareness Training in 2020.

Sensory Awareness Training raises awareness of the practical and emotional impact that sight loss and/or hearing might have no someone.  As well as finding out about some of the aids, equipment and adaptations that someone with a sensory loss might use to maintain their independence, participants also explore communication tactics for more effective communication with people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and learn basic sighted guiding skills, so they are able to guide someone who is blind or visually impaired comfortably.

The training is funded by the Aberdeen See Hear Strategy Fund, and so is free to attend for people working in Aberdeen City.  The cost if you don't work in Aberdeen City is £60.  Lunch is provided as an integral part of the training, and everyone receives a Certificate of Attendance and full training pack.
