Robert Gordon's Film Festival 2019

RGU Film between 2 ears of orange corn

The RGU Film Festival (RGUFF) was first launched in 2017 by the RGU Film Society. This award-winning festival is a student-led event held annually at the Belmont Filmhouse in Aberdeen and showcases short films from both local filmmakers and filmmakers around the world.

The RGUFF 2019 will be funded through the RGU Foundation Annual Fund which means that the festival will be bigger and better than ever. One of the conditions the Film Society made regarding film submissions is that they all have English captions, making this our first film festival to have English subtitles on all of the screenings of the short films

Charlotte Little (President of RGU Film Society) said “As a hard of hearing person myself, accessibility within cinema is so important to me and the lack of captioned film screenings in multiplex cinemas is frustrating. RGU Film are excited to be working again with the Belmont cinema on this festival, promoting accessibility within cinema and hopefully improving cinematic experiences for Deaf/Hard of Hearing audiences”.

This free event will be taking place on Sunday 31st March and Monday 1st April at the Belmont Filmhouse, Aberdeen. Tickets will be made available early March so  keep up to date with the festival by visiting our website at www.rgufilmfestival.com or our Facebook page at @RGUFilmFestival.
